Mountain America Stadium

Mountain America Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, and the home of the Arizona State Sun Devils of the Big 12 Conference. It opened in 1958 and was named Sun Devil Stadium until 2023; its official name is Mountain America Stadium, Home of the ASU Sun Devils. The natural grass playing surface was named Frank Kush Field in 1996 after the team's former coach. Seating capacity was 53,599 as of 2018, reduced from a peak of 74,865 in 1989, and a five-year renovation costing $304 million was completed in August 2019. The stadium held the Fiesta Bowl from 1971 to 2006 and the Cactus Bowl from 2006 to 2015, and was home to the Phoenix and later Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League from 1988 until the 2005 season. It was the only major football stadium in the Phoenix metropolitan area until State Farm Stadium opened.
