The Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve, formerly the Deer Valley Rock Art Center, is a 47-acre nature preserve in the Deer Valley area of Phoenix, Arizona, holding more than 1,500 Hohokam, Patayan and Archaic petroglyphs across 500 basalt boulders at the base of the Hedgpeth Hills. The petroglyphs range from 500 to 5,000 years old. An archaeological investigation by J. Simon Bruder, contracted by the US Army Corps of Engineers ahead of construction of the Adobe Dam, examined the site in 1980. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The museum building, designed by Will Bruder, was constructed on the site in 1994, and the preserve is operated by Arizona State University's School of Human Evolution and Social Change.
