London Bridge

London Bridge is a bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It was built in the 1830s to span the River Thames in London, England, and was bought from the City of London in 1968 by Robert P. McCulloch, who had founded Lake Havasu City as a planned community in 1964. Only the exterior granite blocks of the original were cut and shipped to the United States; the Arizona structure is reinforced concrete clad in that masonry. The bridge was completed in 1971, together with the Bridgewater Channel Canal that separates the peninsula from the mainland, and links mainland Lake Havasu City with Pittsburgh Point. It was rededicated on 10 October 1971.
