The Acadia Ranch Museum, home of the Oracle Historical Society, is a historic ranch complex at 825 East Mount Lemmon Highway in Oracle, Pinal County, Arizona, built up between 1885 and 1930. Edwin S. Dodge and his wife developed the property as a lodging house for travellers and summer visitors in the 1880s, in partnership with Jack Aldwinkle, having previously run a similar lodging house in Tucson, 35 miles to the south; at an elevation of 4,500 feet in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, Oracle offered markedly cooler summers. One room of the ranch house served for a time as Oracle's post office. The main house is a one-storey, L-shaped building with a five-room adobe core dating from the 1880s, together with later frame, stone and adobe additions and a one-room adobe structure added around 1915. A portion of the ranch, comprising the ranch house, an outbuilding with a smokehouse and garage, and a water tower, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984; the smokehouse's eroded four-foot-thick adobe walls were restored in a project completed in 2013. The Oracle Historical Society, a nonprofit founded in 1977, operates the site as a museum.
