Standin' on the Corner Park is a public park in Winslow, Arizona, opened in 1999, commemorating the song "Take It Easy" which was written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey and most famously recorded by Frey's band, the Eagles. The song includes the verse "Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, and such a fine sight to see.
Offers opportunities for canoeing, fishing, swimming, and picnicking. Clear Creek Canyon, a deep rock canyon with petroglyphs, is accessible only by canoe. It is possible to camp here; see listing below.
Chevelon Creek Bridge is a historic road bridge located about 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Winslow, in Navajo County, eastern Arizona, United States. It is a steel Warren Pony truss bridge over Chevelon Creek, built on the first permanent road connecting Holbrook, the seat of Navajo County, and Winslow. When built, the road was regionally important in northern Arizona as well as being a segment of an early national highway at the time automobile traffic was growing and national roads were first being formed.
Over 3000 petroglyphs are located on what is now a working cattle and buffalo ranch. The petroglyphs are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and have been determined to cover a period spanning 6000 years produced by several Native American cultures. Personal guided tours are offered by the ranch owner Brantley Baird and his ranch hand Clem Rogers.
