The Sierra Bonita Ranch is a cattle ranch in the Sulphur Springs Valley of south-eastern Arizona, about 27 miles north of Willcox. Henry C. Hooker founded it in 1872; it was the first permanent American cattle ranch in Arizona and is among the oldest in the United States. Hooker bought up neighbouring ranches until the operation covered 800 square miles, roughly 30 miles by 27, the largest in the territory. The modern ranch is much smaller but remains in operation, owned by Jesse Hooker Davis, the sixth generation of the family to live and work on it. Its buildings are designated a National Historic Landmark.
