The Galiuro Mountains are a large sky island mountain range in south-eastern Arizona. They are one of the northerly ranges of the Madrean Sky Islands region, which covers south-eastern Arizona, northern Sonora in north-western Mexico and the extreme south-west, or bootheel, of New Mexico. The range is noted for its height and ruggedness. The Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness takes in its northern perimeter and the larger Galiuro Wilderness its central and southern parts; to the south the Galiuro Wilderness borders the Redfield Canyon Wilderness. A river valley borders the range to the south-west, and Aravaipa Creek and Valley to the north-east.
