The Chicago Cubs' spring training park in Mesa, opened in 2014 and, at 15,000 seats, the largest in Major League Baseball.
Sloan Park is a baseball park in Mesa, Arizona, opened in 2014. It is the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs and the home field of the Arizona League Cubs of the Arizona Complex League and of the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League. The park was built and paid for by residents of the city of Mesa under a ballot measure, principally to house the Cubs' spring training operations, which had previously been based at nearby Hohokam Stadium. The design was led by Populous, and the dimensions of the playing surface closely match those of Wrigley Field, the club's regular home; a number of secondary fields, most of them for training and practice, adjoin it. With a capacity of 15,000 it is the largest spring training stadium in Major League Baseball, exceeding Camelback Ranch in Glendale by 2,000 seats. The Cubs drew more than 200,000 spectators to the park in each of its first six seasons and again in 2023, including a Cactus League record of 250,893 in 2019. It was known as Cubs Park until January 2015, when Sloan Valve Company acquired the naming rights.
