The South Kaibab Trail is a hiking trail in Grand Canyon National Park. It begins at Yaki Point on the South Rim and follows a ridgeline into the canyon, leading to the Colorado River. Unlike the Bright Angel Trail, which also begins on the South Rim and ends at the river, the South Kaibab runs out along a ridge to Skeleton Point, from which the canyon can be seen in every direction. It is slightly steeper than the Bright Angel Trail, and because it keeps to the ridge it offers almost no shade and passes no natural water sources; plant and animal life along it is correspondingly sparse.
