Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is a system of slot canyons on Navajo Nation land east of Lechee, cut into sandstone by water moving through narrow fractures. Six sections are named separately: Upper Antelope Canyon, known as The Crack; Lower Antelope Canyon, known as The Corkscrew; and Rattlesnake, Owl and Mountain Sheep canyons and Canyon X. Upper and Lower Antelope are the most visited of the six. The canyons are the principal attraction of Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, which also holds a hiking trail to Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Access is permitted only in the company of an authorised Navajo guide.
