Davis Dam is a dam on the Colorado River about 70 miles downstream of Hoover Dam, spanning the border between Arizona and Nevada. It was completed in 1951 and is owned and operated by the United States Bureau of Reclamation. The dam was originally called Bullhead Dam and was renamed for Arthur Powell Davis, director of the Bureau of Reclamation between 1914 and 1923. Its impoundment of the Colorado forms Lake Mohave.
