Fairbank

Fairbank is a ghost town in Cochise County, Arizona, next to the San Pedro River. It was first settled in 1881 and was the closest rail stop to Tombstone, which gave it a part in the development of south-eastern Arizona. The town took its name from Nathaniel Kellogg Fairbank, a Chicago investor who part-financed the railway and founded the Grand Central Mining Company, which held an interest in the silver mines at Tombstone. The site now lies within the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area.
