Four Peaks

Four Peaks is a landmark on the eastern skyline of Phoenix, part of the Mazatzal Mountains and lying in the Four Peaks Wilderness within the Tonto National Forest, 40 miles east-north-east of the city. The name refers to the four distinct summits of a north–south ridge forming the massif's crest. The northernmost, Brown's Peak, is the tallest at 7,659 feet and is the highest point in Maricopa County; the others are Brother at 7,644 feet, Sister at 7,574 feet and Amethyst at 7,526 feet. In winter the peaks are visible under snow from much of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Four Peaks is the site of an amethyst mine, and is depicted on the standard vehicle registration plates of Arizona. Its Yavapai name is Wi:khoba.
