Phoenix Raceway is a one-mile dogleg oval track in Avondale, Arizona. It has held a variety of events since opening in 1964, including NASCAR, IndyCar and CART races, and had a seating capacity of 42,000 as of 2019. The track is owned by NASCAR and led by the track president Latasha Causey. It opened under the control of Richard Hogue as a multi-layout facility, and after nearly a decade of slow expansion was bought in 1973 by the Phoenix businessman Malcolm Bricklin under the General Vehicle brand. That ownership was short-lived, ending in the company's bankruptcy, and a group of Arizona businessmen led by Bob Fletcher purchased the speedway in 1976. Further changes of ownership followed until Buddy Jobe bought the track in 1985 and oversaw a period of large expansion, holding it until the International Speedway Corporation purchased the facility in 1997. Two major reconfigurations have since been carried out: one in 2011 that altered the dogleg, and one in 2018 that moved the start-finish line.
