Pinal City

Pinal, also known as Pinal City, is a ghost town in Pinal County, Arizona. It was populated from the 1870s into the 1890s, in what was then Arizona Territory, and only a few foundations remain at the old townsite, which is said to lie on the ground now occupied by the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The Legends of Superior Trail, part of the LOST trail system, runs the six miles between the Arizona Trail and the town of Superior, passing through high Sonoran Desert, the remains of Pinal and the riparian forest along Queen Creek, below Picketpost Mountain to the south and Apache Leap to the east; numbered stations along the route are keyed to an interpretive brochure.
