The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway at Eagle Point in Arizona near the Colorado River, on the edge of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. It opened as a tourist attraction in 2007, located outside the boundaries of the Grand Canyon National Park. USGS topographic maps indicate the Skywalk's elevation as 4,770 ft (1,450 m) above sea level.
Worth a short drive into Utah. Beware of dangerous curves and, at times, low visibility, but when conditions are clear, the drive is amazing. Take Interstate 15 north through a small sliver of Arizona, then into Utah for more of nature's wonder.
The Bat Cave mine was a bat guano mine in a natural cave located in the western Grand Canyon of Arizona at river mile 266, 800 feet (240 m) above Lake Mead.
The Beaver Dam Wash is a seasonal stream near the southwestern Utah-Nevada border in the United States. At its southern end in northern Arizona, near the point where it empties into the Virgin River, the stream flows throughout the year. Part of the wash is in the Beaver Dam Wash National Conservation Area, managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
A former copper mining site that's now in ruins today. There's pretty much nothing in site for kilometers on end, and the road to get here is actually pretty treacherous – so treacherous to the point where pickup trucks may not make it.
It is one of the two largest springs of the Pakoon Basin. Getting here can be done along Highway 111 (Pakoon Springs), but do note that coming here in summer is not advisable due to the heat and low elevation.
This overlook is on the border between Grand Canyon–Parashant National Monument and the Grand Canyon National Park, with some rather impressive views of the Grand Canyon – but without all the crowds. Many choose to camp in the nearby areas to get some good views of the sunrise and sunset.
Oak Grove can give you very different thoughts, depending on your interests. For some, it might be "just another old cattle ranch", while for others, it tells the story of what life was like in the ranches, the tough, treacherous conditions, of hardship and drought – and this ranch is a perfect example of that.
